The first two Silent Auctions for ART for India! were held at the Church of Abundant Life on Saturday evening, August 14th and December 4th. Both evenings were wonderful times of worship, fellowship and fundraising . . . and we want to let you know that ART for India! will continue! We still have artists who are donating their artwork which can be purchased, with all proceeds going to Project Rescue. About ART for INDIA!
Hello,
My name is Zachary Ray, an artist and follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. Over the past year, I have traveled twice to India and have started working with Bombay Teen Challenge, a program that helps those struggling with addiction. This organization works directly with children and young adults ranging in age from 5 – 25 and beyond, who have been rescued from the streets of Bombay and imprisonment of the child sex trade industry and Human Trafficking.
In November 2010 I will again return to India to spend a year working with Bombay Teen Challenge. There is a lot of restoration and healing that these children and adults need to go through to reach their full potential for Jesus. As we know, the Arts are a great source and outlet for healing through many issues that we may face.
Through all of this, ART for INDIA! has emerged: a missions fundraising effort to support the rescue of girls from the streets of India and the stop of Human Trafficking. All funds raised will go directly towards Project Rescue http://www.projectrescue.com/ .
There will be an ART for INDIA! Silent Auction at the Church of Abundant Life on Saturday August 14th, at 6pm. There will be Music, Art, and Indian Cuisine. $5.00 donation at the door. All are welcome!
